What is the issue with my computer?

Deviant Audio: My network adapter likes to go screwy sometimes. It will seemingly arbitrarily cease functioning until I reboot. Even then it may take a few reboots to properly continue.

Why do I experience this problem with Photoshop Elements?

Parasyte: Every now and then, my Photoshop (Elements 6.0) won't let me use colors, only black, white and grey. No matter how many times I change it, it keeps switching back to grey.
