What media players, if any, match the capability of the VLC player?Deviant Audio: It seems to me that VLC is the most capable. It is very useful. |

Media Player Classic. It looks like the old Windows Media Player, is really light and doesn't require an install (*very nice). I don't think it's being worked on any more by the original team but its still worked on independently by some other folks. Paired with a good set of codecs (like the K-lite packs), it'll play anything. |

Honestly I have not encountered any other players that can even compete with VLC. Its free and can play just about anything. If I had to offer a criticism, it doesn't do very well converting various types of audio and video files, which I'm sure others do a lot better. |
